Stocks to Watch | Penny Stocks

Staples (SPLS:NASDAQ) This name has been dead since dropping after announcing it’s earnings. SPLS still hasn’t had a dead cat bounce and the market is bidding up in the pre market. Could be trouble for SPLS if it can’t stage a rally in today’s environment.

Potash (POT:NYSE)Ag’s are starting to look a little better and POT is the darling of day traders and hedge funds. Please don’t forget that POT had a takeover bid on the board recently. There is also a school of thought that says the Ag’s can trade independently of other commodity based stocks.

Nokia (NOK:NYSE)Currently the top trending stock on Yahoo Market Pulse. NOK is down roughly 10% in the pre market and shorts could gain additional traction if we see a market reversal at some point in the day.

Jammin Java(JAMN.OB) JAMNwill try to hold the $2 handle this week. Is another promo coming ? Or does JAMN just slowly drift lower from here. Either way, add JAMN to your penny stock list.

Lithium Corp. (LTUM.OB) I just want to mention this one despite the fact that LTUM has really no action in it right now. However, this stock does mover in sympathy with other lithium penny stocks. penny stocks hemp Always keep an eye on LTUM for a secondary type move. Even if it’s currently dead.

Avalon (AVL:AMEX)Watch this small cap name as rare earths look hot today. AVL’s market cap is still well under $1 billion.

Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE)GS is getting close to book value and has bounced from there before. Traders could take GS higher because of feel good sentiment.

Cascadia Investments (CDIV.PK) A negative Seattle Times article may have finally took the spunk out of CDIV. But, remember, CDIV has a cult following and could bounce on news or a promo. CDIV was once a penny stock scalpers dream stock.

Solazyme (SZYM:NASDAQ)Friday’s performance could lend some credibility to other Bio Energy stocks and related IPO’s.

Washington Mutual (WAMUQ.PK) Still hold s the most active IHUB message board slot. WAMUQ is one to look at if you are into trading zombie stocks.

MGON | Penny Stocks

mgon MGONMegola Inc. (MGON:OB) has something going for it that many other penny stocks don’t. Frequently low priced stock have catalysts that the common investor simply can’t grasp in order to buy the stock. Biotech penny stocks are a common example of this problem. Especially, when the PR’s try to explain products like cancer vaccines.

Well MGON claims to help solve a problem that many Americans are concerned with. The problem is the safety of products shipped to the United States. MGON has product line named HARTINDO that is supposed to be as safe non corrosive fire inhibitor.

On 10/26/11, Megola signed a Memorandum of Understanding with High Point Enterprises of China for licensing of MGON‘s Fire Inhibitor Coating. As always, you have to be skeptical of PR’s involving penny stocks and foreign companies. However, MGON has rallied sharply today, and shares are currently up 93.55% at 0.006 cents on strong volume.

MGON could also turn into a go to trading vehicle for speculative traders every time there is a new flash on defective or dangerous products from China being sold in U. penny stocks volume spikes S. stores. With it’s sub penny status offering the potential for large percentage gains.

MGON Stock Stays Risky

Fundamentally speaking MGON generates 366k in revenues, but only shows 1k in total cash with 87k in debt. The company also isn’t profitable.

On a technical basis, MGON has made large percentage moves like today’s as recently as a few weeks ago. So be careful not to get whipsawed in today’s action. MGON‘s chart is difficult to read because the moves have been so choppy. There is some resistance at 0.8 cents and a little more at 0.0085. As far a support goes, 0.0045 seems to be a level where some decent buying occurred, and if all else fails, today’s open of 0.004 cents could be used as a guide too.

For now just add Megola Inc. to your penny stock list. Keep in mind that while this is super risky name, the story of MGON could catch on with consumers and receive independent press coverage.

STOCKS IN PLAY – Friday

VMWare (VMW:NYSE) VMW is one of those names that prop traders love because a 1.5% move can net you a nice payday if you are in for size. VMW has a cup and handle formation and a break of $95.55 could cause a test of the $100 “psyche level”.

Google (GOOG:NASDAQ) Google bought Zagat, but terms were not disclosed. It seems that GOOG is looking for content companies, so we will be keeping an eye out for some of those obscure, related names that potentially could bounce on GOOG takeover rumors. On another note, maybe this speeds up a Yelp IPO.

NaturalNano (NNAN:OB) We touched on NNAN a little while back because of potential action coming into the name due to a presentation at a cancer conference. There wasn’t even one fluffy PR after the summit, and this why we mentioned not to jump in, and to wait for further news. Consequently, shares of this sub penny stock look weak, and volume is declining.Take NNAN off of your penny stock list until further notice.

Financial Sector ETF (XLF:NYSE) My sense is that XLF needs to move higher soon or a potential re-test of the crucial $12 level could be in order. Remember to watch the action in Bank of America (BAC:NYSE) ,JP Morgan (JPM:NYSE) and Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE) as keys for a read on how to play this bellweather ETF.

Dais Analytic (DLYT.OB) This penny stock name performed well today on a percentage basis, closing up over 26% on volume that was fairly consistent with the prior three sessions. One concern is the last two trades of the day. They sort of painted the tape. Keep that in mind if your are long DLYT.

Stocks to Watch for Wednesday – WAMUQ, WTFS

JP Morgan (JPM:NYSE) Despite settling a relatively small SEC fine, shares of JPM looked strong in late day trading, and could lead the banks on Wednesday if Europe doesn’t fall apart. The vote in Greece went as most experts expected, and along with Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE) JPM and Jamie Dimon have a history of leading the financials higher on reversal days.

Xinde Technology (WTFS:OB) This stock is the latest of a slew of Chinese reverse merger disasters. However, WTFS is a penny stock and has been exempt from some of the news flow that you see with other related small and mid caps. Shares were down sharply on Tuesday, so refer to our profie on Xinde and the sector if you have an itch to go long. But being flat, might be the best way to play Xinde.

Washington Mutual (WAMUQ.PK)It seems like longer term buyers never learn their lesson when playing zombie penny stocks. WAMUQ is one of the premiere penny stock scalping stocks of all time due to it’s name recognition and liquidity. Shares bounced near the 10 cent mark today, but still finished lower for the session. WAMUQ is for if you, if can trade size successfully for fractional amounts. There are actually people who make good livings doing this. However, if you are not one of them, just stay away.

Potash (POT:NYSE) Recently, the Ag stocks have been all about the Euro, and today we saw the U.S. Dollar get weaker, which caused a rally in many commodity stocks. Especially those that were beaten up the most. POT is a name that is recognized and well liked by day and swing traders. So if Europe is stong overnight, we could see some positive action in POT and other related names.

SPDR Gold Trust (GLD:NYSE) I hate to state the obvious, but watch the grandaddy of all metal ETF’s for a key to market direction tomorrow. Many traders and hedge funds will be eying this ETF and Gold Futures for market direction early in the trading session. Although some traders stay away from commodity related ETF’s, and stick with individual gold penny stocks, GLD is always one to add to your ETF watch list.

STOCKS IN PLAY – MCP, NFLX

Molycorp (MCP:NYSE) There have been “psyche number” buyers on past MCP moves near and below $50. But will the flagship rare earth stock hold on another dip ? For now use the $51.20 are as a guide for support. Just remember that the sentiment in the rare earth space can change quickly.

Netflix (NFLX:NASDAQ) Lowered 3rd quarter subscribers estimates and the stock is getting hammered in the pre market. A lot of solid support was broken this AM. Use the $176 are as support or resistance if shares of NFLX dip below.

Powershares DB 2x Short Gold (DZZ:NYSE) This name is played by day traders who are looking for a low priced way to short gold. Buyers have come into support DZZ on tests of $4. Just remember that there might be easier ways to short gold is you have a longer time frame than one to three days.

Viking Minerals (VKML:OB)VKML is currently at the top of the IHUB most active message board list, so there could be a little more action in the name today. Shares of VKML are currently in an uptrend, but have not been able to break the .10 cent level. There are often sellers lined up at key round numbers, so it might be best to only act if a breakout occurs.

Under Armour (UA:NYSE) Shares are off this AM despite an upgrade and Nike takeover chatter. UA often sees more of these types of rumors during football season, and the stock has made a nice move in the last few weeks. However the longer term charts are telling me that UA needs to hold support at $70.

SPRT-Insider Buying | Penny Stocks

sprt SPRT Insider BuyingRedwood City, California based Support.com (SPRT:NASDAQ)might be catching the eye of the trading community in the next few days. SPRT is the provider of online care to homes and small companies, reported lackluster earnings on July 28th, and shares came down from a day high of $4.25 to $3.26 at the close of trading on Monday, and set a 2 year low of $3.20.

Now several institutions and individual investors follow insider buying and to quote Peter Lynch: “Insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise”. Sure, insider transactions happen on a daily basis, but some stick out more than others, and at PSE, we try not to bombard or overload you with too much information.

SPRT Sticks Out!

As our subscribers know, we try to focus on penny stocks that trade under $5 and here are some simple reasons why SPRT sticks out. First of all, the company has $1.45 in cash, which makes SPRT look somewhat cheap considering it’s low share price. Secondly, as of July 15th, SPRT has 2.71 million shares short, which amount to 5.6% of the float. Please keep in mind that the number may have even increased after the post earnings sell off. Lastly, four different SPRT insiders purchased shares on July, 31st between the range of $3.28 and $3.35 to total 26,500 shares amongst them. Now the share amount is not exactly overwhelming, but the message is. Insiders often start small and average themselves into the position. SPRT President and CEO Joshua Pickus only picked up 10k shares, but it wouldn’t be a big surprise if he added to his current position of 59,400 shares. Keep in mind that confidence from management is a key catalyst in scaring shorts to cover already profitable positions. So keep an eye on SPRT, it could get interesting.

STOCKS IN PLAY – RENN, AERN

Renren (RENN:NASDAQ) It’s no secret that RENN is an oversold stock. Since the highly anticipated Renren IPO, shares have fallen sharply and attracted many of the usual NASDAQ bottom fisher long types. Well, today might be a good sign for bulls. Shares of RENN are basically flat after seeing significantly bad news out of the Chinese government. Keep in mind that a bottoming signal often starts when beaten up stocks don’t fall on bad news.

AER Enrergy (AERN:OB) The promo emails just keep coming, and this time the volume is starting to wane a little bit. The short squeeze rumors are starting to be floated in the penny stock community, but AERN‘s trading pattern is telling us another story despite shares being up today. A break of 5.5 cents could be the beginning of the end for longs. Keep AERN on your penny stock list.

Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE)Day traders often use GS as a gauge for other hot money type trades, and shares of GS are looking especially week today after staging a decent rebound off of short term lows.Use the $91ish area as a read for support and remember that GS is more volatile than most think. Also, regardless of your bias, don’t be afraid to pair trade GS with Financial Sector ETF (XLF:NYSE) to reduce risk.

Molycorp (MCP:NYSE) Despite some thinking that MCP is overbought, shares of the rare earth company seem to be in a constructive, low volume pullback today. There also is a gap to fill on the upside at $39.85. Add MCP to your list of stocks.

Washington Mutual (WAMUQ.PK) WAMUQ is back in the news today because of Raj Rajaratnam and his insider trading case. As usual the stock remains popular with penny stock scalpers and the WAMUQ IHUB message board is humming. Keep in mind that we have highlighted the key support level of 6.5 cents for some time. Does it hold ? We will see, but traders seem to be respecting it for now.

SPRT-Insider Buying | Penny Stocks

Zion Oil and Gas (ZN:NASDAQ)This oversold name is now not technically under 2$, but it was earlier today. Shares of ZN have rallied sharply today and are currently up over 35%. Keep in mind that back on 6/6/11, ZN traded at a high of $7.86.

Sirius Satellite (SIRI:NASDAQ) For a long time, SIRI has been a cult favorite of long term spec players and rebate traders. The stock has also lured some true penny stock players off the sidelines as well. At this point shares look oversold, but are currently sitting on crucial support levels. As usual, SIRI remains on many traders penny stock lists. Just keep in ming that SIRI just broke down on the weekly charts.

Eastman Kodak (EK:NYSE) How the might have fallen. Many low priced NYSE traders regard EK as a dog, but the shares are pretty hard to borrow if you had a incling to short. If you like EK, forget about all of their patent talk and focus on the fact that there is an upside gap to fill at $2.31.

Level Three Communications (LVLT:NASDAQ)Shares of LVLT are currently flat, but have seemed to stage a mini bounce of it’s recent bottom. Keep in mind that LVLT was trading at $2.67 in Mid-July and $1.37 seems like downside support.

Valence Technology (VLNC:NASDAQ) To the naked eye of a bottom fisher, VLNC seems like it has a decent chart. However, a break of $1.34 is needed for a confirmed reversal. Shares were at $1.84 in January, but be careful because this name is super illiquid.

Check back for oversold names and add these 5 stocks to your penny stock list.

Penny Stock Picks

We wanted you today to start tracking and studying about a
South American bank that we find attractive at current
levels due to its low multiple and debt level. The bank we
are referencing is BBVA Banco Frances S.A. which trades
under the symbol “BFR” as an ADR at $4.48 a share.

BFR which together with its subsidiaries, provides
financial services to large corporations, medium and small
companies, and individuals in the Republic of Argentina.
As of March 31, 2009, it operated a network of 270
offices, including 239 consumer branch offices, 27 branch
offices specialized in the middle-market segment, 14
in-company branches, 4 branch offices for large corporate
and institutional clients, and 3 points of sale.

BFR currently trades around 7 times earnings with sales in
the range of $770 million. The bank unlike many of its
peers carries very little debt with cash on hand of about
$1.73 billion. Earnings in the first quarter of 2009 was
AR$85.9 million, which represents an improvement of 15.6%
compared with earnings in the first quarter of 2008. The
earnings per share was AR$0.18 and the return on equity
(ROE) reached 16.4% in annual terms. The improvement in
the recurrent income structure of the Bank is reflected in
the net interest margin and in the net fee income, which
grew 19.0% and 32.2%, respectively, compared to the first
quarter of 2008.

Although Latin Americas third largest economy sparked a
sharp slowdown starting in the fourth quarter of 2008 due
to the global recession, we believe things will begin to
improve throughout the year and therefore BFR could prove
to be an attractive investment as global consumer
confidence stabilizes.

Again I would like to impress upon members of the
underground especially you newbies is that always
remember, pigs get slaughtered so when a stock has gone up
it never hurts to take half or your cost off the table and
ride the rest. On the other hand if you are alerted to a
stock and do decide to jump into one that has already run
up significantly you may want to go easy at first.. Just a
little advice from the Sandman.

Don’t forget to please spread the word, because as I
talked about before, there’s always strength in numbers.
Also a special thanks to all of you who continue to
support the underground!!! We have grown at a significant
rate thanks to you. One other thing to leave you
with…Please remember that these stocks can be very
volatile so as always be very diligent if you decide to
jump into them
